"Interesting stop off." Bayburt Ili by Tdiver

We stopped here whilst going from Uzungol to Barhal.The road up from Uzungol to here was really panoramic and worth the journey.
Getting back to Bayburt,we stopped outside for gas and noticed a fairly big castle upon the hill but when we had rounded the city and come in from the that side,the castle is really imposing above the city.
Didn't stop to wander around it but maybe next time.
Loved the local food we ate,overlooking the river.

The river is quite placid in July but at certain times it can almost break its banks.

• Cons:In the middle of nowhere.
• In a nutshell:Would definately come back to see more of the area.
