"Overlooked probably not" Selcuk by Tdiver

As you can guess i was not happy to find out that the castle had been closed for 5-6 years for restoration.The roads around are recieving likewise treatment.Surely they could restore 1 section and then move on to another.The partially restored church of St. John made up somewhat for this but i much more enjoyed the Mosque of Isa Bey.Well worth a visit or even a stay if you're not fixed is Sirince,SE of the town and up in the mountains,great views and the locally produced wines are a must.With Ephesus next door this town could be so much better.That said it's a haven for cheap pensions for back packers around the castle.

The Mosque of Isa Bey is not big but i enjoyed it more than other Mosques i've visited,originally built in 1375 it used pieces from the nearby temple of Artemis.It seems forgotten stuck out on this side of the town except by the tourists.
