Name of Shop: Yorkville
Bloorville is a high priced shopping district along Bloor and the block just north of Bloor, in the immediate blocks west of Yonge Street. The shops along Bloor are huge with large glass facades and opulent décor. In contrast the boutiques just north of Bloor are much smaller because they’re often located in refurbished old houses. None-the-less, this district is where the current fashion trends are set and sold.

Name of Shop: Chinatown
Toronto has several Chinatowns and as it grows, the city will undoubtedly grow even more and larger areas. The original Chinatown is downtown along Spadina and being the oldest, arguably has the most character. Even on Sundays and holidays when most stores are closed, this area is thronging with people shopping at the variety and food stores.

Eaton Centre: The Mall Downtown

Name of Shop: Eaton Centre
I always enjoy walking through the Eaton’s Centre. The stores have stratified them themselves in layers with expensive clothes boutiques on the upper most floor, mainstream clothes and accessories on the middle floor and (more interesting) electronics and the food court on the lowest floor. The Centre is centrally located in the downtown area, so you’ll find yourself passing by the building several times whenever you venture downtown. Its location makes the center an excellent rest and rendezvous site.

36waterfalls Tue Nov 6, 2007 13:52 UTC This is a great overview of the road less travelled! Really good tips, thanks for the public transport ones, much appreciated! | Bwana_Brown Fri Sep 28, 2007 13:23 UTC Very useful tips and great photos of Toronto! I had a laugh at your driving tips, especially because I was able to avoid any mishaps on my most recent trip - even avoided traffic jams! My brief tour of downtown made me want to linger longer next time. |
