Victoria has always been a special destination for me. My grand parents used to live there, so my family would stop off during summer vacation to see them every couple of years. It always amazed me that living on an island, the bulk to their resources would have to be shipped over, often by ferry, the same way I would arrive. I couldn’t understand how this could be economical, but in practice, prices are very little different from the main land. The ferry ride itself was magical; beautiful scenery among the islands, not too long, just the sort of transition that lets you know your destination will be a little bit out of the ordinary.
