Atlantic City Outlets – The Walk: Spending Your Hard Won Money

  • Name of Shop: Atlantic City Outlets – The Walk

If you manage to walk away from a casino with a fist full of dollars, Atlantic City has a street full of Outlet stores waiting to serve you. The stores currently along The Walk include: Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Banana Republic, Bare Feet Shoes, Boss, Brooks Brothers, Carters, Casual Corner Annex, Coach, Dress Barn, Ecco, Factory Brand Shoes, Fossil, Gap, Geoffrey Bean, Guess, H & M, Hang Ten, Harley Davidson, IZOD, Jockey, Kenneth Cole, Liz Claiborne, Mikass, Nautica, Ninewest, Oshkosk B’gosh, Pac Sun, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reebok, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen, Wilson Leathers.

The easiest and safest way to get to the Outlets from the Boardwalk is through Bally’s casino and then down Michigan Ave.
    - Go into Bally’s casino and up to the second floor which connects Bally’s with Claridge and Wild Wild West.
    - Turn towards Wild Wild West and pass by the Connection (comp) Center.
    - Before crossing over the street to Wild Wild West, turn inland toward the Bus Center and continue for a block using the moving walkways.
    - Go down the escalators, out the doors to the left and you should be on Michigan Ave.
    - Walk one more block outdoors on Michigan Ave and you’ll be at the beginning of the Outlet stores on Atlantic Ave.

The Pier at Caesar’s: The Forum Shops of Atlantic City

  • Name of Shop: The Pier at Caesar’s

Opposite Caesar’s is a pier jutting out into the surf. This pier used to be The Ocean One Mall, a multi-level mall shaped like an ocean liner filled with stores, a food court and entertainment. It has recently been purchased by Caesar’s with the intention of turning it into an upscale shopping and entertainment venue that will rival their Las Vegas venue. The Pier’s four floors will be home to stores such as Gucci, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Armani A/X, Bebe and Burberry. There will also be restaurants Buddakan, El Vez and Phillips Seafood of Baltimore. It is expected that the pier will be connected to Caesars hotel with a skybridge. Look for it to open in 2006.

    Wawa: Gotta Hava Wawa
  • Tip Rating:
  • Atlantic City - Early Morning outside AC

  • Name of Shop: Wawa

Driving to and from Atlantic City there comes that moment when you have to fill up the car. Personally, I always stop at a Wawa. They have food markets (large convenience stores) and gas bars (food markets that also sell gas). The gas bars are huge, with plenty of easy to access pumps and even more parking. They have a large washroom and (surprise surprise) it’s clean. The food market portion offers treats for the health conscious (fruit and vegetable cups) and health unconscious (chips, chocolate, doughnuts, sodas) alike. There’s also a deli where you can place an order through a touch sensitive computer screen and have a custom sandwich made on the spot. New Jersey bans self-service gas stations so you’ll have to have an attendant pump the gas for you.

When I lived in NJ as a teenager, I went to Atlantic City, walked the board walk and bought salt water taffy. Your pages brought back some memories although it definitely isn't the same.

Don't know if I'll ever visit A.C. while I don't gamble, but I enjoyed your lively style of writing while reading your tips. Thanks for visiting my Liège page.
