I have to be honest and admit that my brother and I were a little bit disappointed when we finally arrived in Pisa. We had been trapped in the car since the time we left Napoli and the only thing that kept us going was the thought of seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I'm not exactly sure how we imagined it all, but when we got there, there were just a lot of tour buses, touristy souvenir shops, and then the area with the Tower and Baptristry. I suppose we could have wandered around the actual town and ventured farther out to see what else there was, but we didn't. I plan to go back in September and will give it a second chance. We'll see...maybe Pisa will surprise me this time.

• Cons:The town's fame seems to be entirely built around the Tower
• In a nutshell:While the Tower is exciting, it only took me about two hours before I started getting bored...
