Cue is 650kms northeast of Perth, it is a unique little town offering the tourist places to visit. Big Bell town which is a ghost town, Walga Rock, Garden Rock, Lake Nallen also Day Dawn Town site. One can go prospecting for gold, some people are lucky enough and do find a nice nugget.
There are four places a traveller can stay, (1) Queen of the Murchison B&B, (2) Murchision Club Hotel, (3) Caravan Park, (4) Nallen Homestead B&B all these places are clean and the people are very friendly. We have a Super Market, also a Liquor Store Bell & Co which also sells groceries, hardware, camping equipment, etc. This store still runs as it did in the 1800 one must come and see the money train and all the old items on display. Cue is a must on your visit list.
Picture is of, Cue's Government Buildings were constructed in 1896-98 using locally quarried limestone. The complex housed the Warden's Court, Post Office and Police Station. The Post Office clock, a gift from WA's first Premier, Sir John Forrest, was apparently a source of aggravation for employees, having to be wound every 24 hours - a task involving climbing a ladder and pulling the counterweight back into the tower.
- Pros:QFest Festival in October, Prospecting for Gold March to Noverber.
- Cons:Not a lot of night life just the local pub
- In a nutshell:With QFest, it's all about "being there"!
