I'd definitly recommend this hostel, if you're staying in Perth on a budget. It's very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the pool is the nicest I've ever seen in a hostel! I arrived late at night, so picked this place cos there's 24 hour check in. I was pretty impressed with the hostel, it's not the most sociable place I've stayed, but everything else is spot on. The offer free breakfast in the morning, and there's a really good system in the kitchen, so you don't get dirty dishes piling up. There's also a cafe, internet terminals, good message boards, tv room, pool table and table tennis. The location is a bit out of the way, but you can still walk into the city and to Northbridge, and they offer free rides to the train station. It's may not be the best hostel I've ever stayed in, but it's certainly not the worst!

I loved it here, as far as I'm concerned, this hostel has got it spot on! Located in Cottesloe, about 15 mins west of Perth, it's a bit out of the way if you like to be right in the city. However, it is literally right by the beach, and there's a great atmosphere here. The staff are really friendly and cheerful here, and the hostel itself is also very sociable. You'll definitly make some new friends! The dorms are nice, and have fridges and lockers and are ensuite. Facilities include: good kitchen (and café if you can’t be bothered to cook!) TV room, games room with pool table and table tennis, internet access, bottle store, bars, laundrette, shuttle bus and 24 hour reception. The hostel also lends out beach balls, frisbees, boogie boards etc if you're going to the beach.

Unique Qualities: For me, the best thing about this place is the atmosphere, I spent 3 weeks here, and was so sad when I eventually had to leave! The location is also outstanding, literally right next to the beach, and some of the dorms have Ocean views! Oh, they also have a deal where if you pay for a week's accomodation in advance, then you get the 7th night free!

Directions: From Perth, catch the train to Fremantle and get off at Cottesloe. If you give them a call when you get there, they'll try and come down and pick you up from the station. If they're unable to, they'll be able to give you further directions from there.
