Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market: Faneuil Hall
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • I think this building is very beauitful. We really enjoyed walking through & checking out all the little shops inside. I'm glad we went here early, because by doing so we discovered the Freedom Trail marked by a red line painted on the ground that will take you to many different historical sights in the city. I can't remember if it starts here, or if this is just one of the stops along the way, but I highly recommend following it. It feels like the "Wizard of Oz" or something, but instead of following a yellow brick road this one is a red brick road. If you look closely you can see part of this trail on the right side of the building in this picture.

Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market: Quincy Market
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • This is a great place to go if you're hungry, but everyone with you wants something different. There are so many little food shops here, it almost seems like a food court at the mall. You can get almost anything here.

    Freedom Trail: Freedom Trail
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • I highly recommend following the Freedom Trail. It won't cost a thing, and there are many historical landmarks along the way. It would be hard to get lost on the Freedom Trail since it is clearly marked by a red line.

  • There are a lot of famous cemetaries in Boston. It was really interesting to go inside & read the headstones because they are so old. Many of the people buried here were important in Boston's history, but I didn't recognize their names. The sign outside the cemetary mentioned among those buried here were Governors of Massachusetts, Lieut Governors of Massachusetts, Governors of Connecticut, Judges of Massachusetts, Ministers of Boston, and passengers of the Mayflower.

    Cemeteries: Granary Burial Ground
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • There are a lot of famous people buried here. Among those are Paul Revere ("The British are Coming"), Samuel Adams (not only of the beer, but as it states on his headstone "Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Governor of this Commonwealth, A Leader of Men and an ardent Patriot"), Benjamin Franklin's parents, and John Hancock. In this picture you can see the monument with the Franklin name.

    Cheers: Cheers
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Okay, we had to go to the original Cheers bar. We love the neighborhood it's in. We were surprised to see that the outside looks exactly like it did on TV, but the inside was totally different.

    Cheers: Bull & Finch Pub
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Cheers was based on a Boston pub by the name of Bull & Finch. The creators of the show went all over Boston trying to find the right bar to model their show after. They knew as soon as they got to the Bull & Finch Pub that they had found the right place.

    Cheers: "Cheers!"
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • We felt so cheesy posing for this picture, but it didn't turn out so bad. Since we were at the bar/restaurant that Cheers was based on we decided we should take a picture of us cheers-ing each other.

    Boston Common: Boston Common
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • This area was quite beautiful, even though it was freezing cold. It's probably even nicer in the summer time when it's warmer, but it was nice to wander around.

Beacon Hill & Charles Street: Beacon Hill
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • If I were to live in Boston this is the area I would want to live in. The only problem is I'm sure this is one of the priciest areas, too. It's just a really cute neighborhood in the city that is really well kept up, beautiful, and exactly what you expect Boston to look like.

Hello Myrtle. I am planning to move to Boston for a high-earning professional position. I am black and Hispanic. How are race relations in Boston today. I will live in one of the nicer areas. Thanks.
