Off the center but not far and certaintly worth the walk. It's very beautiful from the outside. It's beautiful inside too but the part you can visit is quite small which I had not expected seen from the exterior.

Beautiful collection of the works of Henri Matisse who lived in Nice a part of his life. The red building is set in some beautiful gardens where we sat after walking through the museum and enjoyed watching a game of Petanque between a few old men :)

Not a very big museum, located in a beautiful villa, but they have a nice choice art work from XVth to the XXth century. I personnaly liked esp. the works of Mossa, aswell as the works of Cheret and Raoul Dufy. They open every day from 10-18 except on some holidays.

If you like naive art, then really you should go, they have such a nice collection from the XVIIIth century until now. It's a small museum, located in a beautiful villa/castel within a very nice parc. The parc itself is also worth the walk. The museum is quite out of the way, of the touristical route so to say. Me being a big lover of art naif was really thrilled here anyhow!

An enormous greenhouse of seven hectares which is home to 2,500 different (some rare) species of plants. It presents the visitor with seven different tropical climates. There is also a part of the greenhouse where different butterflies fly around and you can walk in the middle of them, it's very pretty. For the rest there is an artificial lake and a small childrens playground. P.S On the same adress there is the Musee des arts asiatiques (asian arts), I haven't been in the museum though but it seems it's nice.
