Karlovy Vary (also known as Carlsbad) is a fairly well known spa town in Czech Republic. It is a lovely town - quite large, and the well known centre is the river and town centre near the Grandhotel Pupp.
It is well worth buying a lovely little mug (with a handle and spout - to drink from) for about 3 - 5 euros, and going to the main spa centre and collecting some water. You have the option of collecting water at three different temperatures 55 C, 62 C and i think (from memory) 45C. The water tastes a little metallicly (is that a word), and it not too bad at all. They say it is extremely good for you.
I did not stay here (stayed in Frantiskovy instead - see page on this town), so know nothing of the hotels. Unfortunately we were only able to spend one day here whilst passing through to Praha |
