This place is magical. We spent the last three days of our Brazil trip on this little piece of paradise and we could have spent three months! There are no cars on the island so young boys with wheelbarrows meet you at the dock to transport you to your hotel. The 'main drag' has many open air restaurnats and bars but it's really just a dirt path. The island is very low key and small enough so you will know just about everyone within a day or two. Every night there is a grande festa on one of the beaches which are really fun. Locals set up stands with enormous fruit displays and mysterious liquors that they will whip up for you for about a dollar a piece. Watch out for the devils drink which contains god knows what but will keep you dancing till 5 in the morning and suffering the next day. One morning we walked into town for breakfast and saw monkeys running along the power lines, and packs of wild chiuauas roam the streets...no, really.
- Pros:Beaches and Parties
- In a nutshell:Go now before it gets spoiled!
