Amalfi is a beautiful town, very busy with tourists, but the people were still friendly! There are parking areas outside the town where you can leave your car, because you can't drive into the center of town.

I'm showing only a small section of town, there are many many shops lining this street. I had a sign made in one of the ceramic shops. I paid for the sign and the lady said she would send it when finished (had to be painted and fired). I was a little apprehensive, wondering if I would actually get it, but shouldn't have been...it arrived at our home a few weeks later and is hanging next to our door. They did a great job!

The Duomo di Sant'Andrea is beautiful. It was founded in the 9th century and has been altered several times. The carved bronze doors were cast in Constantinople around the year 1000 and the campanile (not in the picture) is decorated with Arabic-like interlaced arches.
