The Roman Forum and other Rome, Italy General Tips

Favorite Thing: There are so many fantastic places in Rome to see, but if I had to choose only one, I would say the Roman Forum. Walking in the Forum, among the ruins of ancient temples....it's just amazing. It was extremely moving and I'm sure I'll never forget it.

Here is a photo of some of the Vestal Virgins, which are located in (surprise!) the House of the Vestal Virgins. The virgins attended the flame of Vesta and if they broke their vows, they were buried alive! (If you look very closely at the lower left side of the picture, you can see one of the Forum cats curled up against the wall.)

Fondest Memory: I miss everything-the antiquity, the people, the crazy traffic, the jumble of buildings here, there, and everywhere! I just loved Rome, period! (oh, and those funny little 3-wheel cars) ----------------

Fondest Memory: I don't think it would be classified as my fondest memory, but I found the traffic and parking in the city to be very intriguing. It seemed to me as though the city was set up with no plan whatsoever....wherever they wanted to put a building, they put it! Consequently, everything seems to be jumbled and crazy. The traffic is amazing, whizzing between these buildings in little alleys, inches from the parked vehicles on both sides---pazzo!! One day my sister and I were waiting for Sergio, and a man came along and proceeded to park in a tiny spot right in front of us. He rocked back and forth, bumping the cars in front and in back of him, for a couple of minutes....when he finally finished and got out of the car, we gave him a round of applause! He naturally took a bow and we all laughed!! It was so silly.....here is a picture of the normal parking in Rome with one of those funny little 3-wheel cars I mentioned previously.

Favorite Thing: I loved seeing the many different artists around the city. Here is one that was located on the Via del Corso, near the Via delle Muratte.
