It was time for a holiday! Jetting off to South Africa for a long break couldn't have come sooner. I was desperate for some sunshine - London has had a particularly brutal spring so far: icy cold days, lit by bright blue skies have had me shivering on my way to and from work. Each morning the sun would shine deceptively, a watery dilution of sunlight rather than the balmy warmth I craved.
Landing in Durban International was as an elixir for my soul: stepping off the plane into a warm embrace of heat was wonderful and my body sighed in relief and all of me relaxed immediately! The wind was strong but warm, the faint tang of the ocean scenting the air. All around me the green hills of natal soothed my mind, the concrete wonder of London left far behind.
While in my old home province of KZN, I hope to catalogue some of the sights and experiences this African homeland has to offer, and just perhaps inspire you to make this a place to visit for yourself |
