"Pineda De Mar" Pineda by doodybee

As usual we booked this holiday Independantly- flying from Doncaster/Sheffield Airport to Girona with RYANAIR - and the hotel was booked through Alpharooms.com-

On the Friday before we were due to fly we had a call from Alpharooms to say the Hotel Merce ( our chosen hotel) was closing early for the winter and they wanted to offe rus an alternative - at no extra costs - turned out the hotel offered was one I had contemplated booking but decided we couldn't afford the extra - so no grumbles there.

The flight into Girona went as planned and on time and we transferred by Resorthoppa who dropped us off outside the hotel Stella and Spa

This is a 3* hotel and i think an independant one ( or a very small chain)
Anyway we have no grumbles at all about the hotel - everything was spotlessly clean and the food was very good although somewahat repetative and ALL the staf we came across were very friendly and helpful ( except the lady in charge of the Restuarant - we nicknamed her Scary Spice)

Some of the guests however leave much to be desired as I can safely say this is the noisiest hotel we have ever stayed in --- the guests in the next room to ours sounded like they were filming a Porn movie half the week and then she clipped clopped around the room in her high heels on departure morning - for about an hour at around 6am - not good
then the night they left a group came in late and spent about 15mins saying goodnight etc at the top of their voices ( at least it sounded like that) around 2am - also clip- cliopping around in heels- Am i the only burke who removes heeled shoes on the way up in the lift

Not much to do in Pineda itself - just how we like it - we did find an English bar to watch the obligatory game of Football in - owned by a lovely Liverpudlian family
We also walked into Santa Susanna on th eseafront and walked back from Malgrat to Pineda also on the sea front which was lovely
Both these areas seem a bit like Blackpool in the sun and were quite busy to say it was nearly end of season up there - ( though i belive some places are open year round and more re-open for a time at christmas and new years)
