Surprise of the Danube !! | me at the bratislava castle |
Well what can I say, I did not expect much from this city ... but boy did it blow me away. I wish I stayed longer than one night as there much of the city I did not experience.
The old town was spectacular, very cosy, much more intimate than Praha's... the people were nice as well, it was fun trying to communicate with them in Polish, as the Slovakian and Polish languages are very similar.
As for the nightlife, It was pretty good I guess ... boat parties were fun, as were the random local pubs.
Bratislava is definately worth a visit, especially when you are already in Vienna. I actually enjoyed this city much more than Vienna :) |
| | map here is a really bad map of the downtown of Bratislava, I got it from the hostel0 I stayed at. I am sure you can find better ones online, but i just felt like scanning mine .. the actual paper copy is all torn up. It helped me out when i was trying to stumble back to the hostel at 4am.... |
