Timna park to my opinion is not Off the beaten but Must see activity. A lot of people come to Eilat to relax and enjoy the sea and the beaches and they forget that there is also beautiful nature here.
Park timna is a beautiful nature park with lovely rocks and stones , a copper mine and beautiful landscapes.

Petra is an archeological site located Outside Israel , In jordan and you can enjoy a day around the area.
If you don't know nothing about petra i will say that this place was the capital of the Nabataeans (you can find also nabataeans places in Israel - Shivta , Ovdat , Mamshit and of the Perfume road.
The word Petra is from the greek work Petrus which means rock.
A trip to petra should cost something like 150 USD for a person. Try to ask on the hotels or search for a traveling agency.

The dead sea is an attraction In israel and in the world , becuase of the salty water that makes you float on your back and also because it is the lowest place on earth. This is not too close to Eilat (2-3 hours drive) but you will enjoy beautiful landscapes and relaxing place.
You can check my Dead Sea (En Gedi) page for more details
