back to travel after a heart attack!

Expected trips in 2013:
- Sardinia and Rome in may. The biggest mediterranean island missing on my list.
- South Pacific tour during 4 weeks in aug/sep: Singapore/Salomon Islands/Fiji/Australia

And still on my wishlist: Iraq/Afghanistan/Tajikistan/Timor Leste/Antartica

My trips in 2012

may: back to Thailand and Vietnam
july: again to Thailand and visit to Sri Lanka. First time to SL East Coast.
October 03rd: Heart Attack! Too early to die!
I had to cancel my cruise to China/Okinawa/Taiwan
november: a short trip to Saigon and Singapore to pay a visit to the family -in-law.
December: I have to again postpone my trip to Iraq. Security and health are too big issues.

trips 2011

january: speedy trip to Thailand. Have a look to Hua Hin...Any chance to retire there one day?
march: usual weekend in Berlin to meet my friends from around the world
may: 2 weeks long tour of Japan; Despite the Fukushima story, I never had plan to cancel or postpone this trip; It was nice travelling through the Japan Alps and then south to Hiroshima and Miyajima
august: back to Thailand and Vietnam!
october: At least! I've been to North Korea and I loved it! En-route, stop in Mandchuria, with visits of Dandong and Shenyang.
december: a 3rd trip to Thailand in the same year, return to France with an extended stay in Singapore (snow in Europe, flights delayed)

trips 2010

april: last section of my long silk road adventure: from Tirana (Albania) I will reach Venezia and finish my 165 days long tour on the Silk Road.
Done! and thanks to the Icelandic volcano eruption, I came back by bus from Venice to Lyon.

I succeeded in travelling the long silk road from Karakorum (Mongolia) to Lyon, by surface, step by step, kilometer after kilometer, as did the monk Plan-Carpin, in 1248.

Belarus: done! my last country in continental Europe, and the 100th visited in the world!
Nice stay with the valuable help of my friend Oksa123. Will be back later with some infos and feedback

Iceland/Greenland: Incredible destinations!!

United Arab Emirates (Dubai/Um Al QwainRas Al Khaimah/Fujeirah)/Oman (Musandam Peninsula) and Qatar: in august 2010
what a shock after Greenland!! and right in the middle of Ramadan!

November : Back to Vietnam for the 16th time since 1988! from there, visit to Brunei, then Sabah and back via Singapore

January: long tour to the south of Ethiopia and Sudan; I was in Gondar to take part to the Timkat festival.

march: weekend in Berlin

end of april: Moldova (including Gagauzia and Transdnistria) and Ukraine

end of may/earlyJune: just a small stay in Kenya. Nice safari in Lake Nakuru Nationa Park

July: Russia: taking the Transsiberian train to Irkutsk and visit to Tatarstan and Buryatia

August: 1 week in Hong-Kong and Shenzhen

september: trip to Goteborg

october: trip to visit the enclaves of Büsingen (Part of Germany within Switzerland) and Campione d'Italia (part of Italy within Switzerland) + United Nations European HQ and ITU HQ in Geneva

november: visit to Northern Ireland and Wales

trips 2008

january : Berlin again and again..always moving and pulsing city

march: Berlin, as usual... best time of the year to meet all my friends around the world at ITB travel fair

june: Munich... I forgot how nice was the city center and Castle gardens

june: My long trip on the Silk Road is almost over!
8 days between Istanbul and Tirana, through amazing northern Greece... I should put some pix online from the Zagoria mountains... just to share with you...

july: trip to Romania (Bucarest) and Bulgaria (Russe, Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia)

august: Vienna to Prag via Bratislava

october: first steps in Ethiopia

november: Malta and Cyprus (including Turkish occupied northern side) to end the visits to the 27 countries of the EU
