If arriving from the west as we did, West Yellowstone is a small town, full of eateries, hotels and souvenir shops. It is also within minutes of the west entrance gate to the N.P. Although there are some luxury hotels, there are many that provide a viable option to staying in the park itself.

Stopped in twice for breakfast here and at 7 in the morning it's nice to get a warm welcome. So much in the way of cakes... more travel advice
