Saint-Saturnin Travel Guide: 2 reviews and 13 photos

Sitting just below a low cliff is another sleepy "Provence" village, St. Saturnin lies just 9 kms from Apt and right on the edge of the Vaucluse plateau. Dominated by the ruins of the XIth c castle and also a windmill dating from the 17th c. Just below the ruins is a dam, built in 1902, creating a small lake that is now used for fishing, but up until a few years back gave the village its fresh water. For serious gourmets the area is renowned for its truffles. There are also lots of Bories, the drystone huts used since medieval times for shelter, scattered around the fields here.
