It's an up and coming city in Asia that is gaining a lot of popularity especially with Asian travellers over the 2-3 yrs. I've been there 3 times and I would suggest that if you are -ONLY- planning to stay in HCMC and have no intentions of venturing out to other parts of HCMC, 4-5 days would be a nice duration or you might find it very bored there! Contrary to what most Singaporeans would believe, HCMC is not exactly "dirt cheap" (in my personal view), it's probably 70-80% relative to Singapore prices if you are looking for food & entertainment of a reasonable standard. But of course, if you translate that into USD, Asia is almost always CHEAP to Americans and Europeans.
Btw, nightspots usually close around midnight, so it's a city that sleeps really early! ;) |

lindagn1 Thu Jan 18, 2007 23:04 UTC With the price of admission that doesn't equate to a whole $1USD, this place is a must see historical landmark. You don't even have to be a history-buff to enjoy and appreciate what it has to offer. I was there last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. | BluBluBlu Fri Aug 5, 2005 10:27 UTC Great tips & photo's! | dsantosh Sat May 28, 2005 07:55 UTC Great start.. |
