Getting TO/AROUND: You can easily manage without your own transport in Broome, it's only a little place a few kilometres accross. When you look at the map you may think that you could easily walk eveywhere, but it's HOT and you won't walk as far as you think you can.
There are plenty of taxi's (use your moble phone, if from outside Australia get a local simcard for $30au) and you won't pay more than $10au a trip.
Or if you're travelling on a budget, there is a bus sevice every 1/2 hour during peak season, one for the day and another for the evening til after midnight.
Multirider tickets are availble to save you money.

Getting TO/AROUND: 4wd's are very popular for getting around as only just outside the town many roads change to dirt tracks, including the road to Grantheome point. You can take yor car down onto Cable beach to watch the sunset, that is if you don't mind wrecking it with salt.
There are several car hire places in the town.
NB, the company we hired our car from did not allow it to be taken on the beach.
