Vélez-Málaga, la capital de la Axarquía

Vélez-Málaga territory has 25 kilometres of Mediterranean coast line and it is composed by twelve towns, among them Torre del Mar is. It's 35 kilometres from Malaga city, the capital the province of Malaga.
You can enjoy of beautiful coastal villages, typical Andalusian inland hamlets and, of course, the city of Vélez-Málaga itself, which is an historical city between Mediterranean sea and Malaga's mountains.

El territorio de Vélez-Málaga tiene 25 kilómetros de costa mediterranea y posee 12 localidades, entre las cuales se encuentra Torre del Mar. Está a 35 kilómetros de la ciudad de Málaga, la capital provincial.
Se puede disfrutar de bonitos pueblos costeros, de típicas aldeas andaluzas y, por supuesto, de la propia ciudad de Vélez-Málaga, que es un pueblo histórico entre el Mediterraneo y las montañas de Málaga.

The Malaga's international airport is 40 kilometres away. It serves to an active international community who lives year round at the area attracted by its nice weather. One way of another Vélez-Málaga use to be a tourist free area and it's populated by locals, while national and international tourists prefer to live the coast and the mountain.

El aeropuerto internacional de Málaga está a 40 kilómetros. Da servicio a una activa comunidad internacional que vive en esta zona todo el año atraida por el buen tiempo. De todas formas Vélez-Málaga suele ser una zona con pocos turistas y poblada por lugareños, mientras que los turistas nacionales e internacionales prefieren vivir en la costa o la montaña.

Lovely panoramic shots of the city and loved the Semana Santa pictures too!!! Must be a great thing to see the processions during the holy week. Very helpful tips and pretty pics too.
