We went to visit the Castle Haut-Kœnigsbourg, in Orschwiller, after spending a beautiful day in Riquewihr. The castle is impressive, at least from the outside, because we arrived at 4'30 PM, when it was just... closed! It was a pity, but also an excuse to go back again and know more Alsatian villages.

Una pena, pero también una excusa para volver otra vez y conocer más pueblo de Alsacia. |
|  | The origin of the name probably came from the anthroponyme Germanic Audald. It's not clear if the city existed before the Castle and the coat of arms depicts the Castle's family symbols. The history of Orschwiller is linked to that of the castle.

Orschwiller is a very small town of 500 people, but very nice. It's just at the boundary between Upper and Lower Rhin, but belongs to this latter Department, in Alsace. We went by car from Riquewihr by a beautiful mountain road, filled with forests and dotted with villages and castles.
Orschwiller es un pueblo muy pequeño de 500 habitantes, pero muy bonito. Está justo en el límite entre el Alto y el Bajo Rin, pero pertenece ya a este último Departamento de Alsacia.
