Ahhh Malta.
Peaceful, Picturesque and Cultural.
I visited Malta for my first time as a young nipper and went back in 2003. It was brilliant to walk back through the streets of Valletta, visit Mdina and check out the coast which brought back many memories of my first visit.
Malta the second time around was a lot more fulfilling for me as i took a lot more time to find out about the history of Malta and see the traditional Malta away from the bars and beaches.
For me, Malta has a bit of everything. If you want history, you've got it. If you want sun, you've got it. If you want sights, you can find them in Malta. Malta is popular with all ages although you're not going to find a theme park in the middle of the island!
Malta is changing from what i can remember, more bars and hotels although at the moment there is still a heavy air of authenticity. If you are looking to go, I'd say go sooner rather than later. With Malta now a member of the European Union, I'm sure that change is imminent. You wouldnt want to miss out on Malta in its current state - locals are more than willing to help out and accommodate you and Malta's rickety buses and rugged roads simply add to the adventure ;o) |

| Pros: | "Deep proud history, friendly people, gorgeous country." | | Cons: | "Malta's popularity is ever increasing.. hopefully tourism won't spoil its authenticity." | | In A Nutshell: | "Go before it becomes too tourist orientated" |
