Rozhen is a nice small village near Melnik. The Rozhen monastery is the main attraction, well preserved and with a beautiful church and garden.
It offers some views of the Melnik pyramids.
Suggestion: don't go there by car, but walk!! On the way there walk on the road from Melnik (1-2 hours) and on the way back take the mountain path to Melnik to see some of the most beautiful views! The path is kind of steep and dangerous at some places so maybe it's not suitable for everybody. Also, you have to follow the markings carefully, otherwise you might get lost. However, the views are worth every drop of sweat!
