Birthday boy Marty on his 4th birthday, 5 May 2007
Marty also loves getting mail, and is curious to see the postcards, stamps etc. found in your mailbox. Since his fourth birthday I started preparing a fresh collection of animal, map and national costume/aboriginal postcards to give on his birthday. What a fun way to learn about the world! |

I can't believe how fast time flies! I remember taking this photo a year ago. It feels like it was just yesterday, and a year has passed already, and in just a few days our little boy will be 6!!! |
| | Here's a photo of my son Marty, holding a picture by VT member PALS. Please, visit his pages and see whether you can help with his art project! My Home Page is constantly under construction... Now I'm focused on building my Bulgarian pages and updating others, but since I'm not a good writer and organizing and scanning takes some time, it's a slow process. However, feel free to check out what I've added so far. I recommend the Bulgarian pages (especially Melnik , Rozhen, Rila, Sofia and the Snails album, Vitosha mountain, Burgaska oblast and Lovech) and my Dominican Republic pages. I'm also slowly building my USA, England, Poland and France pages. |

| | Postcard collection When I was a kid, before the internet era, I used to have a lot of penpals, mostly from the USSR and Eastern Germany (it was during the Communist Era, and besides I studied Russian and German in primary school). Now these two coutries don't exist any more, but I still keep some of the letters and all postcards, and the stamps wtith the images of Lenin, Marx, Brezhnev... Since then, my postcard and stamp collection has grown and now there are also VT members helping me enlarge it. Thank you very much! Click on the links to view postcards from VT members Europe , UK, GermanyEuropeII, Asia , Asia IIAmericas, USA, AfricaOn pic, last week arrivals and a small part of my stamp collection. If you want to see some Bulgarian stamps, click here Favourite postcard themes: Capitals UNESCO World Heritage Sites Historical places Castles, Palaces, Landmarks, etc. Rock Formations, National Parks, etc. In the 21st century, I use my computer every day, but still I love real books, real letters/cards with real stamps and handwriting... VT, although virtual, is more real than most 'places' on the Internet, wtih real people and real personal experiences. I don't own a single travel guide but I enjoy reading members' tips because they not only tell you about a place but also how it made the author feel about it. On top of that, since I'm too lazy to keep a real diary in my awful real handwriting, VT allows me to bring back, organize and record some memories. That's why I appologize if some (or most) of my tips are more personal and less practical. I will try to include some more practical information too... |
| | Here's my fridge and small collection of fridge magnets. That's what's on the fridge. Items always present in the fridge: Number one, always, youghurt (as most Bulgarians)! Number two: fruity youghurt. Number three: drinking yoghurt:) |
| | Melnik, Bulgaria An unforgettable place, a must-see in Bulgaria, the small historic town with its museums, famous wine and Bulgarian Revival architecture, surrounded by the Melnik Pyramids, impressive rock formations. Each step you take on the path to the Rozhen Monastery offers a new breath-taking .. Check out my Melnik and Rozhen pages. |
| | The sea, the sea I was born in a sea-side city, I love the sea, going to the beach, swimming was the first sport I practiced and my favourite, what else can I say... Whenever I go abroad, I like to go to the local beach and take a swim in the sea/ocean, This is the beach we go to most often in Burgas, it's 15 min. walk from my parents' place.
