Bulgaria, Kazanluk, Historical Museum
Do not miss the opportunity to visit the Archeological Museum and the Art Gallery located in one and the same building.
Historical museum:
Tthere are some archeological finds from the Kazanluk area starting from the neolithis.
The most impressive exposition is the one with the finds of Seuthopolis - the antient Thracian city (on the place of today's Kazanluk) and from some of the toms in the Valley of the Thracian kings. (the original of the mask on the picture is exhibited in the Archeological Museum in Sofia, but there are other finds worth seeing in the local museum of history in Kazanluk).
Art Gallery:
there are a lot of works of Bulgarian artists and icons from 17-19th century exhibited there.

Kazanluk, Festival of Roses, Children Concert
Every year there is a Festival of Roses that takes place in Kazanluk in the first week of June. There are many cultural events at that time - concerts, folk dances, art exhibitions, different competitions, incl. Miss Queen of Roses, a procession.
The concluding part of the festival is at the weekend. And although the most of the museums and galleries are closed at the weekend (unless you've made an appointment in advance) at the time of the festival all of them are open.
Bulgaria, Kazanluk, Chudomir Museum
Chudomir (real name: Dimiter Chorbadzhijski) is one of the best Bulgarian writers and paiters. Even if you are not able to read in Bulgaian you still may enjoy his paintings.
Chudomir was born in the village of Turia, Stara Zagora district on March, the 25th, 1890. He attended a high school in Stara Zagora, and then without the support of his father, the Art School in Sofia. He was soldier in the first WW and the Balkan War. In the period 1920-1933 he was working as a teacher in painting in Kazanluk. He worked as a director of the Historical Museum in Kazanluk and was a chief of the board of the cultural club 'Iskra'.
His short stories and feuilleton are extremelly colourful and funny and were illustrated by himself.
You may find some short stories (in Bulgarian) here
and also some of his paintings.

The former house of Hadgi Eno - actually there are two houses - the first one gives an idea of the life in the city, the second one - in the village, in the 19th century. The architecture and the house arrangement are typical for the sub-balkan region.

Bulgaria, Kazanluk Tomb
This Thracian tomb was found by accident in 1944, during the WWII. It was build for an unknown Thracian king and his wife in 4-3 century B.C. The tomb was robbed in the ancient times already but because of its architecture and especially of its painting the Kazanluk tomb is included into the UNESCO Word's Heritage List.
The tomb is located within walking distance from the city centre. There is a copy of the original tomb. The original tomb can be visited up to 30 persons a day, so I'd recommend you to go there during the week ( the key is in the Ethnographical museum, so go there first). The copy is opened for visitors 9-18h, entrance fee: 3lv, a tax for taking pictures: 5lv. The entrance fee for the original: 20lv.
Directions: 1200 m from the centre of Kazanluk, in north-east direction, on Tyulbeto hill
