Some History Notes

Church Christ Pantocrator

Originally a Thracian settlement named Menebria which became a Greek colony - Messembria in the 6th century BC, then fell down under Roman rule in 71BC. Later it was a subject of battles between Bulgarians and Byzantines. In 1812 after a two-week siege it was captured by the Bulgarian Khan Krum. When Bulgaria fell down under the rule of the Ottoman turks it was captured by them.

Lilia, lovely little page with brilliant photos of Nesebar. Sooner or later we will probably return to Bulgaria to explore some more places.
