...is very much like its English counterpart in that both charm the passing tourist in the most nonchalant, almost accidental, manner. For all the grandeur that both cities offer, it is the small things like passing an abandoned underground station on the way to grab your daily coffee or catching up with friends as a castles sits upon a hill behing you that truly makes the experience of passing between these places.
After you check out the city's prerequisites like Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh Castle and the Rosyln Chapel, don't forget to venture out to the small, inconspicuous streets and lanes to discover their own beauty because if there's a city full of it, Edinburgh ranks high on my list. |
| | Those heilan' coos Highland cows they are not, but much like Florence of Italy, Edinburgh is a cow-scattered city. No two cows are the same and collectively, form a neat outdoor museum-- perhaps particularly amsuing because you never know when you are going to run into the next one.
This is the first one I spotted at the airport, a cow of constellations in the sky. Watch for the next "ooh here's anther one!" moment. :) |
One of the many beautiful buildings of Edinburgh, this one of the main hall of the University of Edinburgh. | | |

My younger son was a student there for three years, so I took the opportunity to visit a few times and we had a great time cycling around together. | kokoryko Thu Apr 26, 2007 21:36 UTC Am I the first one to leave a comment ? You have an interesting view of Edinburgh and the pictures from the castle are nice. Your HP pictures are wonderful! Cheers from Pau |
