"Morogoro and the Uluguru mountains " a Morogoro Region Travel Page by Veghel

I visited Morogoro to have lunch on my way back from Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam. Morogoro is a pretty large city of over 200,000 inhabitants, 200 km west of Dar es Salaam. Morogoro is beautifully situated at the toe of the Uluguru mountains. In the city center, some beautiful colonial buildings have survived the decades. Many of them were constructed from concrete in the nineteenfifties, as the figures on the facades told me. I regret that I could not stay in Morogoro longer than 2 hours, as the Uluguru mountains seemed to be a nice place for hikes (which was later confirmed by some internet research).
