Game spotting made easy | Zebras in Mikumi National Park |
Of all the national parks in Tanzania, Mikumi National Park is the closest to Dar es Salaam. From the heart of the capital, it is a 4-hours-drive to the park border. Mikumi is the 4th largest National Park of Tanzania, with an area of 3,230 square km. Though many people prefer the more famous parks in the north of Tanzania, it is often easier to see the wildlife at Mikumi as the game density is said to be higher in some seasons. I stayed in Mikumi for two days, one night. In total, I was driven through the park for about 8 hours in total. In these 8 hours I have seen zebras, buffalos, impalas, wildebeest, lions, giraffes, crocodiles, monkeys, elephants, hippopotamuses, beautiful birds and many, many more. |
