My wife and I stayed in Stone Town, Zanzibar's capital, from 26 to 29 July 2006. Zanzibar is a beautiful island with many things to do, including swimming with dolphins, spice tours and visiting mangrove forests. Stone Town itself is a good starting-point for your trip, though I recommend staying there no longer than two or three nights, as there is not so much to do in the city itself and it does not have attractive beaches like the island's east coast.
