Lively tourist city at the end of the world | Ushuaia seen from the airport's car park |
Ushuaia is the no. 1 harbour for cruises to Antarctica. The city itself is a lively tourist village with numerous hotels, hostals, shops and restaurants. It is surrounded by tall mountains and extensive forests, which are part of Argentinean national parks. Ushuaia is situated along the beach (unsuitable for swimming) of the Beagle Channel; which is connected to the ocean. On the other side of the beagle channel is Chile, which can be seen very easily. |
