Off The Beaten Path: Not in a book
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Most travellers unfortunately follow books to the last sentence and most do so more so in the Middle East because a high percentage of travellers go through the Middle East with the thoughts and impressions of violence on their minds or in their inner psyche. The truth is if you throw away your guide book and hop on a bus to a place that has little information in a LP book chances are you will be rewarded not only with an element of surprise but sweet people that will knock your socks off with regards to hospitality. I have done this at least once in every single Middle Eastern country and the rewards have been so more than I could have ever wished for or dreamed of. I have had meals paid for, free city tours, guest at weddings, engagement parties and that is only the beginning. The Middle East is ''the'' place to extend yourself and try the unknown and I guarantee you will walk away not only with a good story but some memories that are unparallel for the rest of your travel days.
