Palestine Restaurant: My fav

This place is set up so you can just point and order. The staff is super friendly and the food was great. Try the chicken and local bread and you wont complain. The staff made this place and they speak some English. I ate here 3 times and it was my fav local place to eat in Sana'a. They will probably direct you upstairs if you are with a woman but the atmosphere is great up there because you look down over the street and people watch.

Favorite Dish: The whole chicken, an oldie but a goodie.

Al Khima: LP recommended

I usually dont write tips that I havent personally used but I remember reading about this restaurant while I was there and a few travellers I met said it was excellent so I got the information for it in case I wanted to try it out. It is near the British embassy and the mixed grill is supposed to be fantastic. It is a family geared place so the atmosphere should be calm and cool.

Favorite Dish: Mixed grill and the juice and fruit.

Address: off Hadda Street

Al Fanoos: Bedouin style

This place has a great atmosphere and it is like a Bedouin meets Yemeni house rolled into one. The place is popular with locals that are well to do and backpackers often frequent the place. The place was closed during the day when I first arrived eventhough the sign said open but after eating here at night I can say it was well worth it. Delicious. They also advertise live music but that didnt start until pretty late (past 930pm).

Favorite Dish: Anything Middle Eastern or Lebanese.
