| Cruising on the Oslofjord during summer |
| | The City of Oslo Oslo is my home city. There are many things you can do while you're here depending on what your interests are. The city has above half a million inhabitants and is surrounded by nature on all sides, which is also shaping the activities people participate in. During summer, you can go swimming, sailing, fishing, bicycling, horseriding, or take it easy at one of the many good seaside cafe's or restaurants. Or nightclubbing in one of the many nightclubs! During winter you can go skiing, slalom, snowboarding, skating and so on. The people are usually friendly and forthcoming, and most are able to communicate well in english. Some also master other languages, especially german, french and spanish, if any. We also have some nice parks and museums, amongst others the Munch museum where the famous "Scream" painting got stolen some time back and the Vigelands Parken. There are many good restaurants in Oslo, the only problem might be that the price level in general is rather high in Norway. Especially if you have a taste for beer, wine or other alcohol beverages. Oslo has the highest density of restaurants with stars in the Guide Michelin in the whole of Scandinavia. We also have quite a few good clubs in Oslo - people love going out and party! If you know where to look, you can get most the things you need in Oslo. Norwegians are travelling more and more abroad, bringing home international goods, customs and ideas with them. Crime is rather low in general. Most people have what they need to get by and don't want to hassle others. Enjoy your stay! :)
If you take time to rate the tips you appreciate - I would be very grateful! |
