Aguas Calientes - The gate to Machu Picchu

Aguas Calientes is a small town tucked in between the moutain sides of the Andes, close to Machu Picchu. The train that goes from Cusco makes a stop here but some non tourist trains continue further on - going straight thru the middle of the city.
There are plentiful of restaurants and bars in the town, and the town has a friendly atmosphere (in stark contrast to for example Lima). Hiking possibilities are excellent! Remember to bring a camera, sun block, maybe a cap, rain gear, something to drink, snack and good hiking shoes.
