I usually refer to my car as just "the car". However, I have given the car the name of Carina. It's a SAAB 9-3. These webpages are about the places Carina has visited (and to qualify as pertinent material for this website)
Carina, this car, was built in March, 2005 to U.S. specifications. It was delivered to me by ANA Trollhattan, the SAAB dealer in Trollhattan, Sweden on May 9, 2005. After a brief visit to Sweden, the car is coming to the U.S. The car was purchased through SAAB USA through its European delivery program, also known as IDS/International and Diplomatic Sales.

Excerpts from the article include: They're drawn by packages that can include factory discounts (as much as 9 percent off the American sticker price), accommodations or air fare and, of course, the thrill of a factory tour....According to the carmakers, a significant number of people who buy cars in Europe are repeat customers. Of the 2,000 Americans who picked up BMWs in Munich so far this year, nearly a third were repeaters....And though Saab's sales are small, only 200 cars so far this year <2004>, that's still well ahead of 2003, when it sold less than 100 cars to Americans picking them up in Sweden. ...Saab's discount goes up to 9 percent, on top of $2,000 in cash <along with no charge for shipping, unlike cars purchased at the dealer, which calculates as a discount up to 18%, depending on the model)...."It's a way of building loyalty," said Mike Augello, special models and process development manager at Mercedes-Benz USA.
That's enough about business and prices. You can visit the car companies' website for this kind of information.
This web page is about where Carina, this SAAB 93, has travelled. Carina is the car, not me. I usually call Carina just "the car", not by her name.
While Carina was made in Trollhattan in 2005, I first visited the city in 1997. So far, Carina has been to Trollhattan, Kungalv, Gothenburg, and Askim. The car was on a ship approaching the port of Newark (May 26, 2005). The Boheme (ship) later stopped in Baltimore, Charleston (South Carolina). The car offloaded from the ship at the Port of Brunswick (Georgia) June 2, 2005 at 17:02.
Since this was written, the car has been to Florida (USA)
For technical tips, such as changing oil, see "general tips".
- Pros:nice city, traffic is not heavy
- Cons:It was a bit chilly during my 1997 visit.
