"Fast-paced Moscow" Moscow by Katie&Jordi

We were carrying a lot of lugagge.

Our expectations regarding Moscow were very high, not sure why.

But the reality largely overpassed them. We found a big, fast-paced, beautiful, regenerated metropoli.

At the beginning, everything was moving too fast for us (specially the metro). We soon understood why: we had been living in a train compartment for almost a week and we were moving slow!!!

After we had adjusted, we can say we really enjoyed walking around. There are not only the famous sites (Red Square, Kremlin...), but many others: you can wander around many beautiful streets with restored buildings, parks, the riverside.... and, of course, the metro stations. Also, the city is packed with nice little churches in every corner. Finally, we think that the comunist past, with its inmense buildings and avenues, adds a special character that cannot be found in other places.

• In a nutshell:A renovated city, so far away of recent stereotypes. One of our favourites.
