Parks & Gardens: Villa Ada

  • Villa Ada is one of the very largest public parks in Rome, Italy.

    Park was the residence to the italian royal family from 1872 to 1878 and then from 1904 to 1946. There you can enjoy on the bench and the sunshine and watch who is passing. Today this park is famouse for world music festival "Roma Incontra Il Mondo".

  • The pyramid of Cestius was built during the reign of the emperor Augustus, probably between 18 and 12 BCE. It is a remarkable monument, made of white Carrara marble and exactly 100 Roman feet (30 meters) high.

  • There are bizarre and macabre chapels of this cemetery, where the decorative elements - from the picture frames to the light fittings - are all made of human bones.

    The crypt is located just under Santa Maria della Concezione, a church commissioned by Pope Urban XIII in 1626

    Hours: Fri-Wed 9:00am-12:00pm & 3:00pm-6:00pm
