Today Berchtesgaden is probably mostly known for it's role in Second World War, through appearances in films and tv series like 'Band of Brothers'. For the history interested there are a lot to see and visit like the Kelsteinhaus (Eagles Nest) or the Obersalzberg. But Berchtesgaden is so much more and going there only to experience the past would be to cheat yourself.
