A place to fall inlove with! For me this was the first visit to a caribbean island group and I must say, it will be difficult to "outbeauty" these island in the future! So beautiful and peacefull it could just make you cry... |
| | El Gran Roque The biggest island in the archipelago of Los Roques is called "Gran Roque". Located to the north, this is where most of the population lives. Its also here where the airport is located, as well as all the inns (posadas), the school... The airport is located by the sea, just a few meters from the beach. When you get down from the plane, you must go through the national park authority and pay the entrance fee. Most of the streets of Los Roques are made of sand. This is why you can see so many people walking barefoot. Houses and inns exhibit their colors, giving the island a joyful look. The sea, with colors that go from turquoise to dark blue, is always close from the village. Whenever you feel like it, you can take a plunge in those crystalline waters. |
