IF YOU'RE INTERESTED.

by Mairo21 - last update: Feb 27, 2008

SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND....

Someone once told me, "EACH DAY, YOU DIE A LITTLE BIT MORE...SO WHY NOT LIVE EACH DAY LIKE IT'S YOUR LAST? DO WHAT YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE,"- I couldn't agree with him more. In life, there is nothing to fear, but fear itself. That is the only thing that will keep you from pursuing your goals in life, Achieving your dreams.

HAPPINESS is an attitude that one can slip in and out of without any impetus at all excepts one's own will. Therefore, don't wait for a reason to be happy. Just be happy, and the reasons will follow.

Another beautiful day in Maui

A LITTLE ABOUT ME...

II was born and raised on the island of Maui. I was searching for my purpose in life, and have finally come to a conclusion that I am here to help, nurture, hope, and love everyone and everything around me. I enjoy travelling, because it is an outlet for me to retain an open mind, and it helps me to understand and experience life outside of the box. Travel stimulates my free spirited nature, and enables me to grow into something bigger than myself. I am a truth seeker, a student of some sort... observing, learning, and absorbing as much as I can. I am a very curious person, with hopes of finding answers to my many questions.

I try to remain optomistic in life. I always try to surround myself with positive people. I appreciate the little things that life has to offer, whether it be a friendly smile, or a simple hello. Never take things for granted, for one day, the things that mattered most, will no longer be there. Blue skies in contrast to greenery makes me happy! I always have some time to stop and smell the roses..In fact, I usually do this on a daily basis, more often then not. And always remember, there is no such thing as bad weather, just different kinds of good weather.

I am fascinated with different cultures and languages! In my spare time, I try to teach myself new languages. Although not fluent in any one in particular, hopefully someday I will be...

I LOVE to travel; I LOVE animals; I LOVE nature; I LOVE yoga; I LOVE positive people; I LOVE laughter; I LOVE watching foreign movies(especially the subtitiled ones);I LOVE taking pictures;I LOVE the details; I LOVE experiencing new things, learning new things, seeing new things; I LOVE being alone, I also LOVE to be around family and friends, but most of all, I LOVE to dream...
On the other hand: I dislike rude people, an unreciprocated smile is deeply offending especially when done with good intention; I dislike being made to feel dumb, if I don't know something, I am capable and willing to learn; I dislike negative anythings...

I am a simple person. Most people who know me, know me like an open book. I am very animated in my emotions and easily read. I guess thats a good thing, no more beating around the bush! I am not the least bit shy to express. You will definitely know when I am happy, I am very emotionally in tune with things, I think these emotions often conflict with my logical reasoning. So I am told, Things happen for a reason..it all works out in the end!

I WILL
speak what is on my mind, when it is on my mind. I have high ideals on honesty, humility, and matters of the heart. I will always be completely honest with someone, and hope they honor me by doing the same. I always seek out the best in people, and always root for the underdog. I believe love is a universal language that can be understood by all beings. I have a profound interest in knowing the stories of strangers...after all strangers are family that we have yet to come to know. I also believe that without respect, there is nothing...without love, there is nothing. Without hope, there is nothing. All things are placed in our path for a reason. Good or bad.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?
It seems, everyone looks to be successful someday. But what is success? Everyone has their own definition of success in their own individual mind. I believe Succes is acquired when someone does what truly makes them happy. Perhaps, other people define success as the amount of money you make, a title you have aquired ( in a career), maybe it's the clothes you wear, the home you live in, or the car you drive. It is all in the individuals mind. If you dig deeper, if you really think about it, it really doesn't matter...all those materialistic things, titles, and so on. As long as you stay true to yourself, stay humble, respect all things, whether it be another person, animal, or the environment...then you will find true happiness and peace. Love to the fullest always, and appreciate the little things in life. Never take anything for granted! Remember, we all created equally, no matter the color of your skin, your religion, or background, we are all the same. No one is better than anyone else.

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. to handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart. anger is only one letter short of danger. if someone betrays you once, it is his fault; if he betrays you twice, it is your fault. great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. he who loses money, loses much; he who loses a friend, loses much more; he who loses faith, loses all. beautiful young people are an accident of nature, but beautiful old people are works of art. learn from the mistakes of others. you can't live long enough to make them all by yourself. friends, you and me...you brought another friend...and then there were three...we started our group...our circle of friends...and like that circle...there is no beginning or end....yesterday is history. tomorrow is mystery. today is a gift, that's why they call it the present.

THOUGHTS ON LIVING
an email sent to me. I thought it would be great to share with you...
Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, "How about going to lunch in a half hour?" She would gas up and stammer, "I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain." And my personal favorite: "It's Monday." She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because we cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to," "I plan on," and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow." And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

"Life may no t be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!!!!!!!!!!
