    • Holland Experience shows you a 30 minute 3D show about the Netherlands. You will see a film about the country, but you will get no explanation just the impression of pictures and some effects. Although you can get a discount with your Amsterdam pass (I think it was 25% less), 8,50€ for this show is far too much.

    Alternative: If you want to get a good impression about the whole country in 30 minutes, visit Madurodam in den Haag. It's only slightly more expensive (12,00 EUR) but it is far better: You can spend half a day there and the money there is used for caritative purposes.

    • If you are looking for a nice place to eat or to buy souvenirs, Damrak may be one of your first adresses. Anyway, most prices are expensive. And don't even think to buy a soft drink at one of the souvenir shops. You can pay for a can 2 € or even more.

    Alternative: Try Leidsestraat and Leidesplein, there are also souvenir shops and cafés and the prices are less expensive. There's also an Albert Heijn supermarket where you can buy your drinks and groceries. A nice area for cafés is also Prinsengracht near Westerkerk. You can find even better and cheaper restaurants at the Jordaan district.

     Glad you enjoyed your visits to Amsterdam, despite the weather. I know the Beurs van Berlage because there is a good bicycle rental shop in the basement. I've never been to the Maritime Museum, but it's on my list for next time.
