"Tikkurila, a village at Vantaa" Tikkurila by Zirpsis

Tikkurila Travel Guide: 4 reviews and 9 photos

As a matter of fact, Tikkurila is a part of the city of Vantaa (who cares?). This place is famous for the paint factory which carries the same name. Good location by the railway and Ring III ensure good transportation facilities and a steadily growing community. Also Finland's main airport Helsinki-Vantaa is close by. This place grew around the banks of the River Kerava which flows right across the village and joins the River Vantaa further south.
Personally, I think the traffic arrangements at Tikkurila suck. They have not managed to get their traffic lights in a green wave and so driving is nerve wrecking there. Try to avoid driving through Tikkurila.

The Church of St. Lawrence or Pyhän Laurin Kirkko is at the Tikkurila parish and it's a very popular wedding church today. It was built around 1450 but the exact year is not known.
