Liquor / Beer / Wine: Legal drinking age is 19!
  • Tip Rating:
  • The legal age to drink alcohol is 19, if you plan to go to a nightclub or drink at a bar make sure you are 19 and have a proper ID.

You can buy alcohol from any beer store or LCBO near to you, you can go to their website below to find the one nearest to you.

    Tipping: 15% tip
  • Tip Rating:
  • Well it's customery to tip 15% at restaurants, sometimes people may feel it should be lower. Nevertheless it's important to leave close to 15% tip when you dine at a restaurant.

Language: The language in Toronto is ENGLISH!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Please do not assume that people will understand French, that is not the case here. I often get asked by foreigners if they will be fine in Toronto if they speak French very fluently. Most people in Toronto cannot speak French, unlike Montreal (French city) where the majority can understand English.

    Taxes: Tax
  • Tip Rating:
  • The tax that you pay for certain things may be higher than you expect, in most cases there is 7% GST and 8% PST for a total of 15% tax on what you buy.

    Internet: Free Internet Access
  • Tip Rating:
  • You can get free internet access fairly easily in Toronto, if you're downtown just go into any of the large commercial buildings and there is free access to the internet. Also all the libraries have the internet open to the public.

    Language: The Language
  • Tip Rating:
  • Although you'll find people speaking all different sorts of languages in Toronto the official language here is English and certainly not French. In fact there is probably more Cantonese speaking people and other languages than there is French.

No matter what country you're from you'll easily find someone in Toronto who can speak your language

Liquor / Beer / Wine: Purchasing Alcohol
  • Tip Rating:
  • Most liqour stores in Toronto close at 10 PM, which is really strange for most people but that's just the way it is so people usually go to bars after that time. Just remember this if you come here so you're not shocked to see that there is no where you can purchase alcohol in the middle of the night.

People / Different cultures: All types of Cultures
  • Tip Rating:
  • Toronto is by far the most multi-cultural city in the world, there is not a single culture, religion, or race that you cannot find here.

This is why it makes it even more attractive to tourists and more interesting as you get a sense of so many different cultures in one city.
