Eiffel Tower: Tour Eiffel - the best view over Paris
  • Tip Rating:
  • It is a must-do in Paris - of course! During daytime and at night. I took the lazy way, by lift. You have to go to second platform for 7,50 EUR and from there to the top for 3,20 EUR more.

At night they have a flashlight bling-bling show every full hour for 15 minutes - dont want to see the energy bill for that show.....looks nice though and makes all the tourists go "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh......" ;-)

Montmartre / Sacré Coeur: Sacre Coeur - the beauty on Montmartre
  • Tip Rating:
  • Sacre Coeur is one of my favourite buildings in Paris. You have a great view over Paris from the top (they charge 5 EUR today) and it is situated in the pittoresque quarter of Montmartre!

Louvre: Musee Du Louvre - paintings
  • Tip Rating:
  • The Louvre deserves much more time for a visit than most tourists usually have. There is so much to see and to explore - I had another try this time.

Entry fee was 9 EUR - visits during the week are recommended, the earlier the better, cause waiting lines can get long.

    Invalides: Les Invalides
  • Tip Rating:
  • Hotel des Invalides was built by Louis XIV as a retreat for the invalid veterans of the wars. From far away you will see the golden glitter of the central dome in the sun - the building really is impressive, especially the Eglise du Dome with the tomb of Napoleon with its six coffins inside the main marble coffin.

    Entry fee is 8 EUR.

  • The Pere Lachaise Cemetery is a small city within the city of Paris. On a ground of 430.000 square meters - it is so huge, you can easily get lost - some 800.000 people rest here . Including some very famous inhabitants like Chopin, Proust, Balzac, Max Ernst, La Fontaine, Delacroix, Moliere, Oscar Wilde and Jim Morrison.

Notre Dame de Paris: Notre Dame
  • Tip Rating:
  • Do you remember the ugly bellringer? This is the place this story takes place....
Climb the top of the towers for a nice outlook over the island and the city. Take a close look at the huge number of little monters as rooftop decorations, very interesting!

Versailles: A Palace like in fairytales!
  • Tip Rating:
  • Take a look at one of the most famous Palaces of the world - it is just like in fairytales! An all-inclusive ticket for a day costs 20 EUR - and you need a day for sightseeing and the huge gardens. It is a big park where they play classic music when the fountain show starts - very nice!

Eiffel Tower: The best nightview over Paris
  • Tip Rating:

La Seine and Its Bridges: Pont Neuf
  • Tip Rating:
  • It is the oldest bridge of Paris and also known for Christod wrap arts a few years ago. It is also the lovers bridge, because it is said that when you kiss under it your love will last for ever!!!!

Glad you enjoyed your four first-visits to Paris! Nice photos in your travelogues and tips. I got totally lost in Père Lachaise and it took me about an hour to find my way back to the gate where I had left my bicycle.

Hey Chris, great page with great photos as usual. Please complete the incomplete tips. They seem to be interesting especially because these are the places that I haven't been to. Just built my Paris page. Make time to see that.
