2 Days in Xian "The beginning of the silk road"

Day 1
How excited were we, today we go to see the terracotta warriors. Because our son and his wife came with us we hired a car and driver for the day which worked out more convient and cost effective. The driver drove us to the site which is about 1 hour out of Xian and their we met our personal guide and she spoke English and she gave us a complete guided tour over the site and told us the tale how the first broken clay pieces were found. Very informative.
Must See: The film showing what they depicted happen to the buriel ground. The film is shown all day at the site.
Take comfortable shoes quiet a long walk after you get dropped off.

Day two in Xian

We decided to take ourselves around the city and started at the wall. Another lot of steps to climb. Xian was another walled city and this part of the wall is still in tact and interesting.
We visited the markets and made some exciting purchases.
We visited the drum tower.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Seeing the terracotta warriors. Only need 2 days to see everything. Beginning of the Silk road.
  • Cons:To get to the site to see the terracotta warriors it is a long walk from drop off point to site to meet guide. Only asian toilets. Make sure you have flat comfortable shoes. If it is in summer take a hat or umbrella.
